Continuing Competency (Con Ed) Requirements
All licensees must complete the following during each three-year license cycle:
- 1 hour covering building codes and laws related to the licensed occupation
- 1 hour covering safety
- 1 hour covering changes in construction and business management laws
If licensed for less than six (6) years, requirements include:
- A total of 21 hours within the first 3 years and 21 hours during the second 3-year license cycle, including both of the following:
- At least 3 hours of activities that demonstrate continuing competency each year, during the first 6 calendar years of licensure
- Each 3-year cycle shall consist of 1 hour of codes, 1 hour of safety, and 1 hour of law, and 18 hours of other topics.
Note: A licensee shall maintain documentation, for at least 5 years, of activities that meet the continuing competency requirements.
Note: No documentation is to be sent to the department. Documentation will be requested if a licensee is selected for an audit
